5-Hit Barrage by Barnes
Monday, March 25th, 2019
After the Houston 6-5 loss to Fresno State and his 5-hit day second baseman Dorian Barnes told reporters, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school, or college ball. Two hits in a game is very good, three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special. It will get you in the record books, but you won't necessarily win the ballgame."

The 21-year-old player got into the record book today with a spectacular 5 for 7 game against the Fresno State Bulldogs.

The skipper of the Cougars spoke glowingly of Barnes, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Dorian did that to perfection today. I just wish some more of our players swung the bat as good as him. We might have won the game."

Dorian Barnes flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, doubled in the 12th, walked in the 14th, walked in the 16th and struck out in the 19th.

A look at his season totals shows Barnes with no home runs, .263 BA, .330 OBP, 5 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
