Covey, Zavagoza Receive 8-Game Suspensions Sunday, March 24th, 2019 Martin Covey of the California Golden Bears and Armando Zavagoza of the Mississippi State Bulldogs will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended 8 games apiece by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Golden Bears-Bulldogs game at Prisoners Ballpark. Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Covey and Zavagoza will begin serving them soon. For the year Covey has hit at a .333 clip with 6 RBIs, 2 home runs and 18 runs scored. Looking at his season stats, Zavagoza has won 2 and lost 2, collecting 28 strikeouts and 3 walks in 23.1 innings with a 5.01 ERA. |
