Barry Raps 3 HR Against Cavaliers
Friday, March 22nd, 2019
It was a day for the record book for Alabama catcher Christian Barry. He walloped three out of Ballpark of Redwood College against the Cavaliers. But not even a three-homer game could prevent the Crimson Tide from losing 11-10 to Virginia today.
"We threw some good pitches and they hit 'em... we made some bad pitches and they hit 'em. That's a good strategy for losing ballgames," the Alabama skipper quipped after the loss.
Barry celebrated nonetheless as his name will now be added to the league archives. He was 3-3 for the day, batting in 5 runs and scoring 4 times.
"I never, ever thought I would hit three home runs," Barry said. "I hit three home runs once when I was 12 in Little League and I thought that was going to be the last time."
Christian Barry walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Patterson in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Patterson in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Ken Reed in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
This season Barry is batting at a .328 clip with 7 home runs and 16 RBIs.
