Pérez Belts 5 Hits

Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Sooners Ballpark when António Pérez of Oregon scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Texas A&M Aggies.

He was down and a little subdued with mixed feelings in the postgame interview. "It was a good day for me, but not a good day for the Ducks. The bottom line in baseball is to win. We didn't do it today," he told the press after the game.

He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career day performance, but it was the Aggies, who won the ballgame 5-4.

However, the third baseman of the Ducks did have this to say: "My swing was really, really there today. I made some good, solid contact and when that happens... good things happen. Sure, 5-5 and losing is better than going 0-5 and losing. I'll take 2-4 and a win and be overjoyed. I ain't greedy."

António Pérez doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Currently Pérez is batting .257 with 5 home runs, 9 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
