5-6 Game for Jahn
Sunday, March 10th, 2019
What a day for Mike Jahn of the Indiana State Sycamores! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped North Carolina pitching apart at Bruisers Ballpark and sparked the Sycamores to a 17-3 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Jahn told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
Mike Jahn doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off John Wooten in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jeffrey Bradley in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
Looking at his stats this year, Jahn has compiled a .462 batting average, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 7 runs. He has played in 7 games and scored 8 runs.
