Sato Boosts Hit Streak to 25 Games
Friday, April 20th, 2018
And the hits just keep on coming -- especially off the red-hot bat of Nakamaro Sato. The Cyclones left fielder got 1 hit in 1 at-bat in today's 18-8 triumph over the South Illinois Salukis at Forney College Grounds. Sato has now hit safely in his last 25 games.
Asked by the press, how it feels to go through something like this, he replied, "the longer it goes on, the more the pressure intensifies. The press coverage can get relentless at times. I wish I could just go out and play the game without all this distraction, but I know that's not going to happen. I know I will just have to grin and bear it." Nakamaro Sato walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd and was hit by a pitch in the 4th.
This season Sato has banged out 62 hits in 157 at-bats for a .395 average with 18 home runs. He is getting on base at a .503 pace and his totals also include 42 RBIs and 45 runs scored.
