Hit Parade: Brookshire Pops 5 Hits Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Brent Brookshire -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and really shined on the diamond at Crowley College Grounds, but the performance lost a little glitter when the Cardinals were downed 13-10 by the Mississippi State Bulldogs. After his sparkling batting performance the Stanford catcher told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His batting theory paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too." Brent Brookshire singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Rod Crowe in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off David Lawson in the 9th. |
