5-Hit Game for Butler Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 Today the Rebels downed the Owls 8-7, but Jonathan Butler did his best to avoid that outcome as he lashed hits all over Ballpark of Wrightsville College in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," the Rice left fielder said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter." Asked if he had a hitting philosophy, Butler said, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of good pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Jonathan Butler singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Butler is batting .297 with 2 home runs and 11 RBIs this season. |
