Hit Parade: Barrett Gets Cycle
Sunday, April 16th, 2017
Todd Barrett of Oklahoma accomplished what few others have been able to do. He chalked up 4 hits -- 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run -- on his way to the cycle. However, his great game ended on a sour note -- his Oklahoma Sooners were bumped off by Georgia Bulldogs by the score of 14-8 at Biglerville College Fields.
For the day he finished 4-5 with 2 runs batted in and 1 run scored and will be honored in the record books for his rare accomplishment.
In the postgame press conference he said, "I was so focused on winning the ballgame, I didn't even know I had hit for the cycle until our PR people told me after the game."
Todd Barrett hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Bowman in the 4th, tripled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Barrett is hitting .213 with 2 home runs.
