Virginia Bids Farewell to Manager Marion Saturday, March 18th, 2017 It came as no surprise when Franck Marion was fired from his post as the manager of the Virginia Cavaliers, not even to the man himself. Speaking to reporters minutes after being informed of his termination, Marion said, "It's no big shock I guess, but it still hurts. Nobody ever likes to be told they can't do a job they love anymore." Marion was a fan favorite and much-heralded for being a player's manager, the team's general manager said. "At the end of the day baseball is about what happens between the lines. We'd love to have kept a quality baseball man like Franck in the Virginia organization, but he felt it was better to move on." |
