Bad News for California, Jones Injured
Monday, May 7th, 2012
Baseball can be a contact sport at times. It can exact a harsh toll on a player's body. In a recent game against Stanford Cardinals, Golden Bears reliever Bob Jones was injured throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 9 months with a torn labrum. The team did not announce any roster moves today related to this injury. The California skipper told BNN that personnel decisions would be announced as early as tomorrow.

Crunching the numbers on Jones for the year, he has made 16 relief appearances, recorded 1 save and compiled a 0-3 won-lost mark and 3.38 ERA. In pitching 21.1 innings, he has totaled 22 strikeouts and 6 walks.
