Corrigan Batters Baylor Big Time Monday, May 16th, 2016 On top of the Rice hit parade today was Allen Corrigan. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Owls to a 6-1 victory over the Baylor Bears. The sweet swinging right fielder told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Bears wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Allen Corrigan singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Thus far this season Corrigan is hitting .396 with 4 home runs, 24 RBIs and 38 runs scored. He has 63 hits in 159 at-bats and has played in 39 games. |
