Ávila Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle
Monday, April 4th, 2016
Missouri's Carlos Ávila accomplished what few others have been able to do -- he hit for the cycle. In baseball, a player hits for the cycle when he hits a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game, though not necessarily in that order. Collecting the hits in that order is known as a "natural cycle."

For the day he finished 4-5 with 5 RBI and 3 runs scored and helped his Tigers knock off the Florida Gators 17-10 at Ballpark of Bismarck College. In the postgame press conference he said, "I didn't even know I had hit for the cycle until after the game."

Carlos Ávila walked in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Alonso Díaz in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
