Oklahoma's Russell Down with Injury Friday, May 15th, 2015 The Oklahoma Sooners will have to make do without Ed Russell for 8-9 months. He suffered a torn labrum while throwing a pitch in the game today against the Florida Gators. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the reliever. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." During this season Russell has 22 relief appearances and registered 0 saves. Batters are hitting him at a .315 rate and his season record is 2-1 with a 7.43 ERA. He has logged 26.2 innings and struck out 22. |
