Thrice Is Nice: Cole Unloads 3 Homers Sunday, April 19th, 2015 The fans at Bruisers Ballpark witnessed Clint Cole write his name into the league record book with three home runs, but the North Carolina Tar Heels still dropped the decision to the Clemson Tigers 11-7. He spoke with reporters after his historic day and told them, "I've always loved hitting in Bruisers Ballpark. You can see the ball so well. I'm glad I got the homers, but three hits and a win would be nicer." For the day he collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs. Clint Cole hit a two-run home run off Luis Ibarra in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Luis Ibarra in the 4th, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Charles Hopkins in the 9th. Thus far in 2015 Cole is hitting .474 with 6 home runs, 14 RBIs, 6 runs scored and has compiled a .524 OBP. |
