Hallman Spins 16-K Game Saturday, May 17th, 2014 The Arizona State Sun Devils were victorious over the Long Beach State 49'ers today 8-5 at Ballpark of Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley College after getting an outstanding performance from starting pitcher Willie Hallman. The 19-year-old Hallman brought his top game to the mound, striking out 16 batters while allowing 4 hits and no walks. "He made a lot of good pitches out there," the Long Beach State manager said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters by swinging at everything, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes." His record this year is 3-0 in 8 starts and Hallman has a 2.63 ERA. |
