Loetzsch of Chippewa Named Best Pitcher Wednesday, October 30th, 2019 He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Bob Loetzsch performed like a veteran on the hill for the Chippewa River Chiefs and walked away with the Buck O'Neil League Cy Young Award in the process. The 18-year-old River Chiefs star fashioned a 13-3 won-loss record in 2019 with a 2.91 ERA. In 158 innings of work and 32 starts, Loetzsch struck out 147 while giving up 138 hits and 76 walks. He held opposing batters to a .234 average. |
