5-6 Day for Vimpany Monday, September 16th, 2019 Graeme Vimpany got the glory and the headlines today, while the New Orleans Jedi Knights got the win. The Coney Island second baseman easily handled Jedi Knights pitching, going 5 for 6, but the Cyclones came out on the short end of the score 17-9. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "I'm glad I got the hits, but I would trade three or four of 'em for a win... maybe even all 5 of 'em." The Cyclones skipper added, "Well, it's a shame we didn't get the victory today, especially with his standout performance. Let's just hope our team can do better tomorrow." Graeme Vimpany singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Artashes Injeyan in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th. Vimpany on the season is batting .252 with 5 home runs. His totals include 22 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has played in 31 games. |
