Human Beings Matthews Smacks 5 Hits Friday, August 23rd, 2019 Joseph Matthews really sizzled at the plate in today's 18-2 win over Eagles. The Albuquerque second baseman blistered Whitewater for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Matthews was too tough to get out today," the Eagles skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Joseph Matthews singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. For the year Matthews has hit at a .222 clip with 28 RBIs, 4 home runs and 29 runs scored. |
