5-6 Game for Roberts Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 No matter what the Beach City Seals threw at him today, George Roberts hit it. He easily handled Seals pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Stealers to a 5-4 triumph at Tim Raines Stadium. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Beach City skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." George Roberts singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 10th. So far this season Roberts has gotten 73 hits in 330 at-bats for a .221 batting average with 11 home runs. His stats include 49 RBIs and 46 runs scored. He has played in 99 games. |
