Player of the Week: Chippewa's Ibarra Monday, July 29th, 2019 19-year-old José Ibarra made a few Chippewa headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Buck O'Neil League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 13 hits in 28 at-bats to put up a .464 average. Ibarra collected 4 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 7 runs. On the year Ibarra is hitting .319 with 127 hits, 26 home runs, 104 RBIs, .387 OBP and has scored 78 runs. |
