Frosties Chill Taniguchi's Hot Streak
Monday, July 15th, 2019
Sadahige Taniguchi, second baseman for the San Angelo Mustangs, gave it a good try, but his day in history finally came to an end, when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Barrow Frosties. Not only had they stopped his 23-game hitting streak, they had beaten San Angelo 13-2, too.
Speaking with the media after the game, Taniguchi said, "Now that the streak has ended, I admit I will breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat. It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
So far this season Taniguchi has put up a .292 batting average with 110 hits, 3 home runs and 43 RBIs.
