AHL Starter of the Month Goes to Sapthotharan Monday, July 1st, 2019 There's something about a young rookie winning the August Herrman League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Ashwini Sapthotharan, a 19-year-old starter for the Bel Air Princes. In June, he topped off the month with a 4-0 mark and 0.79 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 34 innings, fanned 42 and held opposing teams to a .158 average. This season Sapthotharan has registered 9 wins and 2 losses in 16 starts with a 2.21 ERA. |
