Hit Parade: Smith Pops 5 Hits Friday, June 28th, 2019 Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Stable Park when Dean Smith of Kingwood scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Victoria Vikings. He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Knights get by the Vikings 19-3. In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the catcher of the Knights said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one." Dean Smith singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and walked in the 8th. This year Smith is batting .356 with 1 home run and 11 RBIs. |
