Pan on Fire, 5-6 Against Palm Beach Saturday, June 8th, 2019 What a day for Hui Pan of the Houston Sting! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Palm Beach pitching apart at Envoys Ballpark and sparked the Sting to a 11-4 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Pan told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Hui Pan singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. For the season, Pan is hitting at a .328 clip with 4 home runs, 38 RBIs and has scored 55 runs. He has 77 hits, 50 walks and a .450 on-base percentage. |
