Smith on Fire, 5-6 Against Barrow Saturday, May 18th, 2019 Who needs batting practice? Joe Smith of Baltimore apparently doesn't as he battered Barrow with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 13-8 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 6 day... will my name be in the record books now?" Joe Smith singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. This year Smith is hitting .254 with 3 home runs and 16 RBIs in 42 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .305 with 11 walks and 23 runs scored. |
