Pan Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 23
Tuesday, May 7th, 2019
It was the best of both worlds for the Chippewa River Chiefs today at Woodland Park as they defeated the Houston Sting 7-6 and also ended Hui Pan's 23-game hitting streak. The 19-year-old Houston right fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Hui, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious River Chiefs skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Pan frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game."
So far this season Pan has put up a .344 batting average with 44 hits, 3 home runs and 23 RBIs.
