Pan Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Friday, May 3rd, 2019 He did it again! Hui Pan got another hit and ran his hitting streak to 20. He collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats, but that wasn't enough to win the game. His Houston Sting were defeated 9-4 at Woodland Park by the Victoria Vikings. During the recent streak, the 19-year-old right fielder has remained quiet, sidestepping questions about it with ease. Whether for superstitious reasons or simply in an effort to avoid the spotlight, Pan preferred to shower praise on his team. He told reporters in the clubhouse after the loss, "We have a better ballclub than we showed today." "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "So, we're trying to kind of keep that quiet... don't want to jinx him." Hui Pan walked in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. Pan is hitting .360 so far this season with 23 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 41 hits including 3 home runs, 22 walks and .475 OBP. |
