Super Week for Whitewater's Cervantes! Monday, July 9th, 2012 So far in his young career, Gabriel Cervantes has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the August Herrman League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 22-year-old Whitewater Eagles second baseman hit at a torrid .609 clip as he collected 14 hits in 23 at-bats, no home runs, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Posting a .288 batting average to date, Cervantes has 2 home runs and 18 RBIs. |
