Perkins 5-6 for New Orleans Monday, September 17th, 2018 Jim Perkins exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Coney Island Coliseum. The New Orleans first baseman had a field day in the 11-3 triumph over the Coney Island Cyclones, finishing with a 5-6 day and a spot in the league record book. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Perkins must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Jim Perkins singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run triple in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and singled in the 9th. Perkins is currently batting .282 with 16 home runs, 86 RBIs and 112 runs scored. He has 168 hits in 595 at-bats. |
