Matsushita Socks it to Frosties, Cracks 5 Hits Sunday, July 15th, 2018 Misao Matsushita told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Matsushita of the Winfield Warriors did against the Barrow Frosties. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Frosties, who suffered a 20-9 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Misao Matsushita grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Ricardo Sánchez in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. This season in 51 games Matsushita is batting .313 with 7 home runs, 24 RBIs and has scored 24 times. |
