Ladner Parks 3 HR in the Seats
Saturday, June 2nd, 2012
Dearborn third baseman Clark Ladner sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Ladner predicted he would hit a home run against the Palm Beach Bums.
During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game." He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Pioneers over the Bums 4-2.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Ladner told reporters after the game.
To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
Clark Ladner doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Caden Anderson in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Caden Anderson in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Caden Anderson in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
This season Ladner has banged out 39 hits in 163 at-bats for a .239 average with 12 home runs. He is getting on base at a .311 pace and his totals also include 15 RBIs and 25 runs scored.
