Saturday, July 29th, 2017
Watching Tomiji Kichida getting helped off the field today at Woodland Park, fans of the Houston Sting feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the closer will miss 4-5 months with a torn rotator cuff. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Kichida suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Eagles.
So far this year Kichida has 16 saves in 37 relief appearances with a 2-9 mark and 9.19 ERA.
