Akio Koike Out of Action Sunday, July 2nd, 2017 The Bums received bad news this morning. Akio Koike will miss 4 months due to a torn labrum. He sustained the injury in the Palm Beach-Penzance game while colliding with a player at a base. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Koike sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery." This year Koike has collected a .233 batting average to date with 10 hits in 43 at-bats, 7 RBIs, 1 home run and scored 5 times. He has played in 15 games. |
