League Suspends Whitewater's Gordon
Tuesday, June 6th, 2017
Sherman Gordon, left fielder for the Whitewater Eagles, will be getting a few days off the hard way -- a 4-game suspension for aggressively arguing with an umpire in a recent game with Westside.
After being called out on strikes, Gordon stood toe-to-toe with the home plate umpire and hotly contested the call. Apparently he got too close to the arbiter and was ejected from the game, allegedly making contact with the bill of his cap.
"I don't remember billing him. I don't remember doing that," Gordon told BNN today.
In 27 games this season Gordon has batted at a .325 pace with 25 hits and 5 home runs.
