Total Control: Whitewater No-Hit by Chapman
Wednesday, August 14th, 2013
Jesse Chapman was untouchable today at The Barn, displaying a good fastball, a wicked curve and an unhittable change in his 4-0 win against the Whitewater Eagles. The Winfield hurler did not allow a single hit, fanning 14 while walking 1 and entering the record books.
"Hey, this is great," Chapman told reporters after the game. "Every pitcher wants a no-hitter. This is nice, but I just want to win. The no-hitter is just a little extra icing on the victory cake."
This season Chapman has crafted a 11-11 mark with a 2.49 ERA in 181 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .186 against him and he has 201 strikeouts.
