Vázquez and Pérez Suspended 6 Games Thursday, September 19th, 2019 Bad blood could be brewing between the Jail Birds and the Rams. In yesterday's contest at Cobras Ballpark, Newark's Ricardo Vázquez and Frisco's Pedro Pérez caused the benches to empty when they went toe-to-toe against one another. Only Vázquez and Pérez were ejected by the umpires. Upon hearing that the two players had been suspended 6 games each by the league office, harsh comments came from both clubhouses. League officials have warned both organizations about the consequences of premeditated retaliation. For the year Vázquez is batting .196 with 42 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 27 times and driven in 20. To date this year, he has registered 3 saves, 5 wins and 3 losses with a 6.84 ERA. Pérez has made 70 relief appearances, worked a total of 102.2 innings and surrendered 128 hits. He has fanned 110, issued 73 free passes and held opposing clubs to a .299 batting average. |
