Ornelas Goes on Rampage Against Ducks
Friday, August 30th, 2019
Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Long Island Stadium when Pedro Ornelas of Sandy Springs scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Long Island Ducks.
He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Spartans get by the Ducks 15-4.
In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the second baseman of the Spartans said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."
Pedro Ornelas hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
This season Ornelas has hit at a .383 clip with 17 RBIs, 1 home runs and 29 runs scored. He has played in 78 games.
