League Suspends Goers Pérez 3 Games
Thursday, August 8th, 2019
The baseball commissioner has suspended Goers right fielder Miguel Pérez 3 games for arguing too vehemently on a called third strike in the Silicon Valley game at Goers Field. Apparently he said the magic words and was ejected by the home plate umpire. He went into the dugout, then returned to the field, resumed his argument with the umpire and had to be restrained by his first base coach.
Pérez said he shouldn't have gone back on the field.
"I was pretty mad. I was all over the place."
In his stats this season, Pérez has posted a batting average of .248 with 81 hits in 326 at-bats, 13 home runs and 47 RBIs. He has also scored 50 runs, walked 47 times and compiled a .341 OBP.
