ACL Announces July's Best Starter Thursday, August 1st, 2019 There's something about a young rookie winning the Alexander Cartwright League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Kuniyoshi Hasegawa, a 23-year-old starter for the Riverside Red Bulls. In July, he topped off the month with a 5-0 mark and 2.56 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 38.2 innings, fanned 47 and held opposing teams to a .212 average. This year Hasegawa has fashioned a 15-5 mark, 3.79 ERA and pitched 142.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .229 against him and he has logged 140 strikeouts. |
