Jail Birds Eduardo Varerla Swings Hot Bat, ACL Winner Monday, July 22nd, 2019 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Alexander Cartwright League, but last week Eduardo Varerla of the Newark Jail Birds reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Varerla rocked opposing pitching for a .500 average (10-20), 4 home runs and 8 RBIs to come away with the award.
