Mustangs Gómez June's Top Hurler Monday, July 1st, 2019 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Juan Gómez, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Yorba Linda Mustangs closer, 24, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .298 average and walked away with the Alexander Cartwright League Pitcher of the Month award for June. Gómez posted a 2-1 mark and a 4.50 ERA in 13 relief appearances. In 12 innings, he had 10 saves, 10 strikeouts, and 8 walks. This season Gómez has worked 39.2 innings in 40 relief appearances and picked up 21 saves. He has dished out 35 strikeouts and walked 34 with a 5-6 mark and a 5.67 ERA. |
