Long Island's Burke Injured, Out of Lineup
Tuesday, June 18th, 2019
Baseball can be a contact sport at times. It can exact a harsh toll on a player's body. In a recent game against Phoenix Lights, Ducks reliever Bob Burke was injured throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 11 months with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. The team did not announce any roster moves today related to this injury. The Long Island skipper told BNN that personnel decisions would be announced as early as tomorrow.
This year Burke has 27 relief appearances with no saves, 1-1 season record and a 1.84 ERA. He has hurled 14.2 innings, given up 12 hits, struck out 20 and walked 10. Opposing clubs have batted .214 against the Long Island reliever.
