Asheville 1B Will Miss 5 Games, Suspended by League Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 The baseball commissioner has suspended Tourists first baseman Manuel Delvalle 5 games for arguing too vehemently on a called third strike in the Silicon Valley game at McCormick Field. Apparently he said the magic words and was ejected by the home plate umpire. He went into the dugout, then returned to the field, resumed his argument with the umpire and had to be restrained by his first base coach. Delvalle said he shouldn't have gone back on the field. "I was pretty mad. I was all over the place." This season Delvalle is batting .233 with 1 home run. |
