Spartans Walsh Smacks 5 Hits Thursday, September 13th, 2018 There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Brendon Walsh of the Sandy Springs Spartans had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today in the 9-4 win over the Rock River Rats at The Rat Hole. The 24-year-old catcher told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day... enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe." Brendon Walsh hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jim Carson in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. Thus far this season Walsh has hit .276 with 8 home runs, 63 RBIs and scored 56 times. |
