ACL's Premier Starter is Yoshida Sunday, July 1st, 2018 There's something about a young rookie winning the Alexander Cartwright League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Hiroya Yoshida, a 21-year-old starter for the Newark Jail Birds. In June, he topped off the month with a 5-1 mark and 2.83 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 41.1 innings, fanned 37 and held opposing teams to a .188 average. This year Yoshida has a 12-2 record and a 3.75 ERA. |
