Week's #1 Player: Yorba Linda's Watson Monday, June 18th, 2018 23-year-old Joe Watson made a few Yorba Linda headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Alexander Cartwright League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 12 hits in 30 at-bats to put up a .400 average. Watson collected 5 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 6 runs. This year Watson has hit at a .333 clip with 72 RBIs, 17 home runs and 65 runs scored. |
