Girton Belts 5 Hits Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 Who needs batting practice? Craig Girton of Madison apparently doesn't as he battered Asheville with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 14-4 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?" Craig Girton singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and walked in the 8th. This season Girton is batting .290 with 63 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 32 times and has 43 RBI. |
