Cummings and Sugahara Suspended, Out 8 Games Friday, June 1st, 2018 After an intense confrontation, both the Deacons Allen Cummings and the Jail Birds Atsumori Sugahara were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Murfreesboro-Newark game. Both players will miss 8 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Allen Cummings commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Cummings currently has a .297 batting average with 62 hits, 9 homers, 62 RBIs, 50 runs scored and a .456 OBP. Sugahara has made 17 relief appearances this year and notched no saves. To date in 28 innings he has a 1-0 record, 3.86 ERA with 23 strikeouts and 16 walks. |
