Johnston FFL's #1 Pitcher in July Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Colin Johnston, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Wichita Wolverines reliever, 25, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .172 average and walked away with the Ford Frick League Pitcher of the Month award for July. Johnston posted a 4-0 mark and a 1.59 ERA in no relief appearances. In 34 innings, he had no saves, 28 strikeouts, and 22 walks. This year Johnston has registered no saves in no relief appearances. He has also compiled a 5-0 won-lost mark with a 2.55 ERA. In 42.1 innings he has fanned 33. |
